Jackson tells the story of a broken world where he sees poverty and loneliness around him, and thus urges us to change ourselves and our behavior before trying to change the world.

La canzone "Man in the mirror" di Michael Jackson è un invito all'azione, a guardare se stessi e a cambiare per rendere il mondo un posto migliore. M. Jackson racconta la storia di un mondo distrutto che vede intorno a sè la povertà e la solitudine, e quindi ci esorta a cambiare se stessi e il proprio comportamento prima di cercare di cambiare il mondo.
