AsF- The New Academic Year



Just started the new 2025/26 Academic Year at PIME in Milan, where a special Academy provides learning opportunities :

Academy Without Borders is a special academy that offers courses and leisure activities for all ages. Focused on cultural promotion and recreation, it also aims to encourage social connections and foster solidarity. The courses cover a wide range of topics, covering subjects from science to the humanities, from languages to music, from singing to entertainment. More than 60 teachers volunteer their time to ensure that everyone can enjoy a high-quality learning experience.

The course I run is called English for Travel and it takes place weekly. We started by taking inspiration from the following song:

LOVE  GENERATION 

Love Generation (by Bob Sinclar, 2005) is a song about spreading love, peace, and positivity around the world. Its main message is that love is universal and can bring people together regardless of their differences. It encourages kindness, unity, and hope for a better world

Every time we travel, we meet new faces, discover new cultures, and open our hearts and minds.

English for travel is not only a course about learning English — it’s about communication, friendship, and sharing experiences. 

Together, we’ll create our own “Love Generation,” where words help us connect with people everywhere in the world- We hope it is so !

All this, also with the help of music and songs. Music and songs enhance  language learning by improving memory, pronunciation, vocabulary, and listening skills. They make learning more enjoyable , making the process more effective and engaging.

Accademia Senza Frontiere è una speciale accademia che offre corsi e attività ricreative per tutte le età. Focalizzata sulla promozione culturale e sullo svago, mira anche a favorire la socialità e a trasmettere solidarietà. I corsi sono molto variegati, trattando materie che spaziano dalle scienze alle discipline umanistiche, dalle lingue alla musica, dal canto all’intrattenimento. Più di 60 docenti offrono il loro tempo come volontari per garantire a tutti un’esperienza di apprendimento di alta qualità.

Il corso che gestisco si chiama English for Travel ed è settimanale.

Abbiamo iniziato prendendo spunto da una canzone.

Love Generation (di Bob Sinclar, 2005) è una canzone che parla di diffondere amore, pace e positività in tutto il mondo. Il suo messaggio principale è che l’amore è universale e può unire le persone indipendentemente dalle loro differenze. Incoraggia gentilezza, unità e speranza per un mondo migliore.

Ogni volta che viaggiamo, incontriamo nuovi volti, scopriamo nuove culture e apriamo il cuore e la mente.

English for Travel non è solo un corso per imparare l’inglese: è un’occasione per comunicare, fare amicizia e condividere esperienze. Insieme creeremo la nostra “Love Generation”, dove le parole ci aiutano a connetterci con le persone in tutto il mondo. Speriamo sia così!

Tutto questo, anche con l’aiuto della musica e delle canzoni. La musica e le canzoni aumentano l’apprendimento della lingua migliorando memoria, pronuncia, vocabolario e capacità di ascolto.
Rendono l’apprendimento più piacevole, efficace e coinvolgente.
