  I futuristi di un secolo fa avevano idee audaci, e alcune si sono realizzate in modi sorprendenti. Altre, invece, restano ancora sogni del futuro. All'inizio del XX secolo , le persone guardavano con speranza al futuro, immaginando le innovazioni che la tecnologia avrebbe potuto portare. L'elettricità, che nel 1925 alimentava metà delle case americane, e le invenzioni nate durante la Prima Guerra Mondiale, ispirarono previsioni futuristiche su un'epoca di trasformazioni straordinarie. Sebbene non sempre precise nei dettagli, molte previsioni si avvicinarono alla realtà, come la diffusione di automobili, aeroplani e la trasmissione di informazioni su larga scala. Prospettive educative per il futuro  Per una scuola che guarda al futuro, è necessario ripensare profondamente la struttura e il senso stesso dell’educazione.  La necessità di un'educazione diversa e rinnovata in Italia è evidente.
