Educare al digitale

The School of the Future:  Humanizing Digital Technology, Educating for Complexity We live in an era in which knowledge is no longer seen as a fixed set of facts, but as a dynamic and shared process. Consequently, schools must move beyond the traditional role of transmitting knowledge and become places of active knowledge construction, where students participate creatively and collaboratively. Digitalization is not just a technological transformation; it is a true cultural and cognitive revolution that changes the way we think, communicate, and learn. Digital technologies should not be understood as neutral tools, but as learning environments that foster experimentation, cooperation, and the sharing of meaning. Schools must educate students to use digital tools consciously and critically, helping them understand the mechanisms that govern technology and its ethical and social implications. In this context, it is essential to develop critical computational thinking , the ability to...

The Digital Gap

Scuola italiana e divario digitale.

People-friendly Streets

Image
Across Europe, cities are rethinking mobility through the eyes of children. Making streets safer and more welcoming for young people doesn’t just protect them — it improves urban life for everyone. https://youtu.be/VgNpw84bg00?si=jiJkYi6DgqYiJKLo A study of 36 European cities highlights growing focus on child-friendly transport, with initiatives like  school streets ,  30 km/h zones , and  protected bike lanes  leading the way. As researcher Tim Gill notes,  “A city that is good for children is good for everyone.” I n recent years, cycling has been booming in cities around the world. In Montréal , one in five trips is made by bike and a third of residents use one at least once a week. The city’s cycling network has expanded by 34%, now exceeding 1,000 km. London and Paris also show impressive figures. In London, cycling has increased by 57% in just two years, and in the financial district bikes now outnumber cars two to one — a rise driven large...
